Who We Are
Our Story
Spechel’s Independent Living was founded in response to a need that is seen throughout many communities: adults struggling to find safe, affordable, and respectful housing.
After more than 23 years of working with individuals through In-Home Supportive Services, founder Spechel Brown saw how housing instability can affect a person’s confidence, health, family relationships, financial security, and ability to move forward.
She envisioned an independent living environment where adults could feel welcomed rather than judged, respected rather than overlooked, and supported in maintaining a stable home life.
Spechel’s Independent Living is currently preparing for its first residential property in Riverside County. During this development stage, the company is building community awareness, connecting with referral partners, and creating a waiting list of individuals interested in future housing.
Meet Our Founder
Spechel Brown
Spechel Brown has dedicated more than two decades to working with individuals and families through In-Home Supportive Services. Her experience has given her a personal understanding of the patience, trust, consistency, and respect required when serving people from different backgrounds and life circumstances.
Spechel’s goal is to use that experience to create independent living opportunities where adults can enjoy stability, personal space, community, and the dignity of having a place to call home.
